This year, both Willam and Kate have chosen to spend the festive season nearly 130 miles away from the Queen in Norfolk, and that is where they will be hosting members of the Middleton family.

Both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge signed off the tweet with their personalized initials ‘W&C’ and that was a clear indication that the duo had taken the time and effort to write it down themselves and then posted it during the early hours of Christmas morning.

The couple acknowledged how today was different from what so many may have planned due to the sudden spike in COVID cases in the UK recently. And that has literally forced so many citizens to stay away from their families.

The message read: “This Christmas will be so different to what so many of us had originally planned. From those who are alone or having to isolate away from loved ones, to all those incredible people who support our NHS and care for those most in need- we are all thinking of you. W&C.”
