Residents in Los Angeles were recently awakened by the effects of an earthquake that arose during the early hours of this morning.

Sources from local media outlets claim the earthquake measures 4.2 on the scale and the exact time during which the incident arose was 2 am sharp.

Those who happened to be awake claim it felt as if a train had gone passed them. Moreover, officials are now confirming how the earthquake hit just off the coast of Malibu today. It is exactly 10 miles off the coast of Malibu and a good 28 miles southwest of Los Angeles.

A total of four devastating aftershocks arose but thankfully, they happened to be of decreasing intensity, sources mentioned.

Meanwhile, as per reports from the National Weather Service, the damage was around a depth of nine miles. At the same time, no reports spoke about the issuance of a Tsunami warning.

Today’s earthquake comes at a time that’s just one month after a single fatal earthquake rocked California’s northern coast. This was December last year, And many feared that today’s may just result in that. Thankfully, that was not the case.

One resident says he and his family were fast asleep when all of a sudden, they felt a massive earthquake. In the same way, they claim to have felt the aftershocks too.

It certainly did not take too much time or too long to realize how the earthquake was definitely not small and slowly, Twitter became abuzz with the news. Plenty of people had a lot to say.

”Wow, that one was bit!”- mentioned one person, and then another wrote, ‘What a shaker’- clearly many were shocked at the developments taking place right before people’s eyes.
