As per the official death certificate, seizures were listed as an important condition contributing to death, but not giving rise to the underlying cause. As per the official cause of death, it was listed as malignant melanoma.

As per the document, Blackstock passed away from natural causes at 11:13 am at his residence in Butte, Mont. There were no reports about an autopsy being performed, and Blackstock was cremated. Moreover, his occupation was shared as a rodeo industry rodeo producer.
