Astronomer CEO Andy Byron Resigns Following Viral Coldplay Kiss Cam Drama: ‘Our Leaders are Expected to Set the Standard’


An American tech firm explained how its chief executive ended up quitting after he was caught on the big screen at a concert of Coldplay concert while embracing his female co-worker.

A clip soon went viral, which showed Andy Byron tendering his resignation, and it was confirmed by the Astronomer. The decision was immediately accepted by the firm’s board of directors.

The clip showed a man and a woman hugging on a jumbo screen at the arena in Foxborough, Massachusetts, before they abruptly ducked and hid from a camera.

The duo was identified in US media as Mr. Byron, who is a married chief executive of Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, who is the firm’s chief people officer. As per the BBC, they have yet to identify who the others are inside the video.

Astronomer has mentioned time and time again how it’s committed to its values and culture that continue to guide people since the day of its founding.

The leaders are expected to set the standard through both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.
