The remains of a 21-year-old woman who sent one final text message to her loved ones before she was washed away in a Texas flood have now been found.
Joyce Catherine Badon was trapped inside a home alongside the Guadalupe River that became flooded during serious torrential rain, as per Agence France-Presse.
Her dad shared with CNN how Joyce was reportedly staying with a group of college pals when this flood took center stage.
He shared with NBC News how she was found dead. Joyce’s mom, Kellye Badon, also shared a new message about their loving daughter through a page on Facebook. The message stated: ‘We’re being washed away’ and then the phone went dead.
Her parents mentioned God showed them the way during the morning hours. ‘We found our lovely daughter who blessed us for 21 years! We pray to be able to find her three friends soon. Thanks to all those who prayed and showed us support during this difficult time’- the family post read.
Many called the finding very tragic, but happy that the family has found closure, even though she was not found alive.
Her parents hope that other parents who are in search of their children can also find them while thanking first responders for risking their lives for the sake of others.
