Former US President Donald Trump has received the Richard Nixon Foundation’s Architect of Peace Award in a private ceremony at the White House, a consolation recognition since he was not given the Nobel Peace Prize despite strong lobbying efforts.
The award that first came into existence in the year 1995 and named after former President Richard Nixon is designed to honor someone who embodies Nixon’s stated goal of a more peaceful world.
Trump shared that he had ended eight wars in just eight months, including ceasefire efforts between Israel and Hamas and conflicts between India and Pakistan, and many more.
During the ceremony, Trump boasted how he wa a better president than George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, after someone shared that he was the third best president.
He said that he did not accept being number three, as no one else ended eight wars like him. “We put out eight wars, he continued to boast again”- leaving some stunned.
The ceremony featured Nixon’s daughter Tricia Nixon Cox and Trump’s former national security adviser Robert O’Brien. Supporters of Trump including House Speaker Mike Johnson are now launching campaigns to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize, declaring him the most deserving candidate of them all.
