Rapper P Diddy was sentenced on October 3 of this year to 50 months in federal jail following his conviction on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution.
He was given a fine of $500k and ordered to serve five years of supervised release. This is because he had already been held in custody since September 2024, as per federal reports. Now, the news is going viral about his projected release day to be May 8, 2028.
At this sentencing, Judge Arun Subramanian acknowledged Diddy’s status and charitable contributions, but stressed that his history of sexual and physical violence required a substantial sentence.
His legal team had already signaled an appeal, arguing that the guidelines and sentence included conduct for which Diddy was acquitted by a jury. Diddy still faces years, but his high-profile conviction has some wondering if he was given a little more leniency than he deserves.
For now, fans are waiting for 2028 while his legal team is seeking an even earlier release, adding that their client’s life is at risk in the current jail where he’s being held.
