Texas rapper BigXthaPlug is not getting much love after GQ magazine decided to put the rapper as their star for the latest front page cover.
The news comes as the rapper is seen shirtless in a bizarre picture posing, which some called out as offensive, due to his overweight stature.
Critics were quick to slam the magazine for not thinking out the shoot in detail, wondering what their motive was to feature the plus-size star without his shirt.
The rapper is joining other popular artists who are putting on their cowboy boots and stepping into the world of country music. His latest single, called All the Way, is topping the charts, and he’s said to be growing popular in this genre. Despite this, many didn’t feel the cover was necessary as they advised the magazine to stop promoting overweight stars for fame and engagement.
In the latest edition, the star speaks about preparing for another big year in the world of music. He spoke about his upbringing in Texas and told the magazine that he dealt with serious anger issues as a child by playing football.
The Texas rapper rolled out his second album, Take Care, late last year, which managed to reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200 in no time.
