The Queen Handwrote A Secret Letter That Won’t Be Opened For Another 63 YEARS


The Queen previously wrote a secret letter that is not to be opened for another 63 years.

As mourners continue paying tributes to the longest-reigning British monarch in history, interesting stories and recollections involving Queen Elizabeth II began reemerging.

One such story revolves around a letter that the Queen handwrote back in 1986. The personalized letter was addressed to the “citizens of Sydney” and is stored in a time capsule located at Queen Victoria Building in Sydney, Australia.

According to the reports, the letter was delivered in November 1986 following the restoration of the iconic CBD building that was previously set for demolition.

The secretive message also came with clear instructions not to be opened or read until the year 2085, meaning that it was meant for future generations who will live in a world different than the one we grew up in.

“Greetings. On a suitable day to be selected by you in the year 2085 A.D. would you please open this envelope and convey to the citizens of SYDNEY my message to them,” the instructions read.

Determined to keep the contents of the letter undisclosed, the Queen allegedly kept her message a secret even from her closest aides and personal staff.

The reemerged story of the Queen’s secretive letter comes after the world was left in mourning following the shocking death of the monarch at Balmoral.

Governments and officials from around the globe have since paid Her Majesty touching tributes, whereas Australia held a touching 96-gun salute outside Parliament House to honor the passing of the 96-year-old monarch.
