The late monarch’s personal wealth, thought to be comprised of real estate, jewels, art and investments, was around £430million ($490 million), Forbes reported in 2021.

Despite multiple estimates, Her Majesty’s true net worth has never been disclosed by the Royal Family, who have protected details about their wealth.

According to The Guardian, the late monarch pressured the British government to change the law in the 1970s to successfully keep the amount of wealth hidden from the public, saying that it would be embarrassing for people to know.

Forbes reported that King Charles IIII will inherit most of his mother’s fortune.

The wealth behind the crown is spread out among members of the Royal Family, including King Charles and his wife Camilla, the Queen Consort; the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince, and Princess of Wales; Princess Anne; Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex, according to Forbes.

In the UK, anyone who has an estate worth over $375 million must pay a 40% inheritance tax. However, that does not go for the monarchy.
