Russia’s ‘strongman’ Vladimir Putin was caught on camera shaking “uncontrollably” and awkwardly tapping his feet.
In a resurfaced video clip which was taken on February 18, the Russian dictator can be seen meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
Before the two shook hands, Putin was seen standing up straight with his right hand violently trembling in the air for a few seconds.
While taking a step toward one of his strongest foreign allies, bloated Putin could be seen stumbling and shifting his feet awkwardly.
The bizarre clip has resurfaced after Putin’s meeting with his defense minister sparked rumors that the Russian president must have suffered a heart attack or is dealing with a disease affecting his motor skills.
During his meeting with Sergei Shoigu, Putin’s face and neck were bloated, whereas both he and the defense minister were heard slurring words while announcing victory in Mariupol.
Eagle-eyed viewers also pointed out the Russian president’s poor posture and suggested he was gripping the table in front of him with his right hand for support.
According to Anders Aslund, a former adviser to Russia and Ukraine, both Shoigu and Putin displayed signs of “bad health” during the meeting.
“Shoigu has to read his comments to Putin and slurs badly, suggesting that the rumors of his heart attack are likely. He sits badly. Poor performance,” he said.
Meanwhile, body language expert and Texas Tech University professor Erik Bucy said Putin has been “astonishingly weakened” recently.
“An able-bodied president would not need to keep himself propped up with a hand held out for leverage and would not be concerned about keeping both feet planted on the ground,” Bucy said.
“This is not a portrait of a healthy Putin but one appearing increasingly feeble and barely able to hold himself upright at a small conference table.”
Putin’s poor posture and his bloated neck and face also sparked rumors on social media where hordes of viewers suggested the Russian president might be undergoing steroid treatment.
Others also suggested Putin could be suffering from cancer due to his condition and reports of him being accompanied by a renowned doctor specializing in thyroid cancer.
