Several people have been injured after a recent Russian strike attacked a church’s entrance in the Donetsk region of Ukraine.
Local sources claim that the huge monastery had sheltered around 1000 refugees who had reportedly fled the war-torn nation in the hopes of seeking shelter. But little did they know that Putin’s men would be instructed to carry out a military strike on the church.
Russian missiles were seen ramming into the church as loud sounds of bomb explosions filled the air, instilling fear and chaos in the region.
As the war enters its third week, it’s safe to say that Putin isn’t holding back as this is another prime example of how civilians are being targeted by Russian forces.
Meanwhile, the governor of Donetsk condemned the attack by Russian forces and referred to the incident as ‘hellish crimes’.
In addition to this attack, Russian forces also targeted a train that was heading back to pick up evacuees who had fled the war-torn region.
The train was damaged as bomb debris struck it from all directions last night.
Recent statistics from the United Nations revealed how at least 2.6 million people from Ukraine have fled their nation.
Sources revealed how at least 200 children were taking refuge in the church with their families when the bombs struck the Svyatogorsk Lavra, which is an Orthodox Christian monastery. They were left beyond terrified as a huge portion of the building was damaged.
Reports claim that bombs aimed at the church exploded at least 50 meters from a giant bridge at the entrance towards the site, injuring several people.
While Ukraine vows to punish those responsible for the crime, many people are fearing the worst as more and more civilians are being targeted by Russian soldiers daily.
