Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly on the move.
As sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed, the family will leave their home at Kensington Palace in west London and move to a four-bedroom home closer to the Queen who resides at Windsor Castle in Windsor.
According to the reports, William and Kate have chosen Adelaide Cottage in Berkshire as their new home.
Insiders believe the Cambridges wish to be closer to the Queen who has begun suffering from mobility issues in recent months.
Their new, more “modest” home will also offer a fresh beginning to Kate and William and their three children who will reportedly have better access to schools.
“Kate and William were very keen for a modest home to start their new lives in Windsor. Adelaide Cottage fits the bill because it is a four-bedroom home and they do not need any more as they have no live-in staff,” one insider told The Sun.
“They had no other demands than a pleasant family home close to schools and the Queen.
“They were adamant they didn’t want anything too showy or anything that needed renovating or extra security so as not to be a burden on the taxpayer.”
The source also revealed one of the added benefits of the move is that all three children, including Louis, Charlotte, and George, will be able to attend school locally.
Furthermore, it has been alleged that the family will pay rent for Adelaide Cottage from their own pocket.
“They will pay rent from their private account. All they need to do is move in some of their treasured furniture and possessions. The whole family is looking forward to moving in this summer and starting a new chapter in their lives together in Windsor,” the insider told The Sun.
