Prince William and Princess Kate have said their final goodbye to the Queen in a hearted post on Twitter.
The Princes and Princess of Wales shared a black and white photo of the pallbearers carrying the late monarch’s coffin into St. George’s Chapel for the committal service.
“Goodbye to a Queen, a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother,” they wrote.
Her Majesty was committed to the Chapel’s vault where she will lie in peace with her husband Prince Philip, her father King George VI, the Queen Mother, and her sister Princess Margaret.
William and Kate paid their respects to the beloved Queen in a private service, when the late monarch was laid to rest next to her husband of more than 70 years.
The mother-of-three paid tribute to her grandmother-in-law by wearing her pearl choker necklace and drop earrings.
It is the same earrings and necklace she wore to the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh last year.
Kate also finished her look with a pearl bracelet of Princess Diana.
William walked behind his grandmother’s coffin while it was being moved into Westminster Abbey for the state funeral.
The couple also walked behind the coffin as it was transported into St. George’s Chapel before taking their seats at the committal service.
The construction of St. George’s Chapel, which King Edward IV ordered, started in 1475 and finished in 1528 under the reign of King Henry VIII.
Among the monarchs buried there are Henry, George III, George IV, George V, and William IV. Other royals who are buried there include George III’s wife Queen Charlotte, Queen Mary’s grandfather Prince Adolphus, and Queen Victoria’s father Prince Edward.
