Prince Harry Named His Memoir SPARE Because He Is ‘Finally Owning The Term’ After A Lifetime Of Being Treated As An Extra

Prince Harry reportedly refused to change anything in his upcoming memoir after the Queen’s death in September.

According to British journalist and writer Omid Scobie, Prince Harry named his bombshell book – which is set to hit the shelves on January 10 – himself after finally owning the term ‘spare’ following a “lifetime” of being treated as an extra.

The Finding Freedom author also insisted Harry decided on the divisive one-word title “early on in the process” while claiming the Duke of Sussex didn’t make edits to his memoir after his grandmother’s death earlier this year.

Since the book was allegedly finished months before the incident, the events surrounding the Queen’s funeral are likely not to be mentioned in Spare which is being ghost-written by J. R. Moehringer.

Harry, however, will allegedly “acknowledge” the Queen’s passing in a passage at the start of his memoir.

As Scobie added, Harry won’t be “trashing” the monarchy and his family in his work but will focus on the “struggles of accepting oneself, sibling rivalry, and falling in love with a person your family doesn’t accept.”

The memoir is also expected to feature a fair share of the duke’s “cheekiness” and his views on being a ‘spare’ which Scobie defines as a “resident scapegoat to protect the Crown and higher-ranking family members.”

The news comes as the Palace braces for potential bombshell allegations the prince might make in his book.

“It is not a question as to whether Harry has a right to release his memoir, it is whether it is helpful to the royal family which he is part of and also, surely, whether it will benefit the Sussexes in their desire for a philanthropic image,” royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said.

“Since they derive their work from being royals, shouldn’t they be supportive? If there has been no rewriting after the Queen’s death, perhaps there should have been.

“Why write a ‘raw’ and ‘unflinchingly honest’ memoir now, so early in his father’s reign, if not for commercial gain?”

While there is not much King Charles III can do to stop the memoir and the consequences it will have at this point, sources suggested the monarch is contemplating taking away Meghan and Harry’s Duchess and Duke of Sussex titles if they “go rogue.”
