A mother from Sydney is going public on why she prefers to give her children experiences for Christmas instead of the usual gifts.
Cheryln Sue says she does not believe in bombarding little ones with luxurious presents because those have very little value in life. Instead, she hopes to give them something that would stay by their side for the rest of their lives.
Mrs. Sue mentioned how providing the little ones with experiences that last for years is her goal each year. And when or if her kids do ask about Santa Claus, well, the answer is pretty straightforward.
She likes to inform them that Santa was busy this year and so had to miss out on their house.
Instead, she likes to take her kids out for some good old family quality time. This could be a trip to the zoo and other theme parks too.
Mrs. Sue even stressed that she was not against buying gifts for others. Instead, the holiday season was all about spending moments with those that mean the most and in this case, it’s your loved ones.
In all honesty, the mother explained how her family is actually doing quite well financially. They are well off but she has never put that forward in front of her kids. She never bought them a Christmas present in the past and would never plan on doing the same in the present or future too.
For her, it’s about being disciplined and celebrating the most wonderful time of the year with your loved ones.
“We have to explain to them the whole matter and how Santa is super busy. We tell them that although Santa does like to gift presents to children, they are privileged to already own so much that other less fortunate ones don’t have. Hence, we pass out on such endeavors”- the mother continued.
