Rapper Post Malone has surprised his fans as he announced that he and his longtime girlfriend are expecting their first child.
The 26-year-old White Iverson hitmaker spoke to TMZ to reveal that he was looking forward to the next chapter in his life and to starting a family with his partner.
“I’m excited for this next chapter in my life, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, and for since I could remember I was sad,” he said.
“Time to take care of my body and my family and friends, and spread as much love as we can every day.”
The announcement comes after the singer, who goes by the name Austin Richard Post, allegedly held a weekend party in Southern California to celebrate the good news.
Malone, who has no other children, is set to welcome his firstborn together with his longtime girlfriend who chose to stay out of the spotlight.
The couple reportedly intends to keep their relationship as private as possible.
In a recent turn of events, the young rapper also revealed that his upcoming album Twelve Carat Toothache will be released this June.
He also said the new music will run for just 45 minutes as he defended his decision to avoid any type of fillers and focus on artistry rather than commercialism.
“Trying to shove 20 to 25 songs, it doesn’t work. Talking to the label [it’s like], ‘Oh, if you have less songs, you’re not going to stream as much,’ but the whole thing is that you don’t want to compromise your art and your gut vibe on anything,” the performer said.
