BREAKING: People Urged To Get Vaccinated As Polio Virus Outbreak Takes Center Stage


People in the UK are being told to keep up to date with their polio vaccines as a recent outbreak of the virus has taken center stage.

According to local media reports, the disease was declared as one being eradicated in 2003. But the sudden outbreak of the condition has so many people wondering what in the world is going on.

The virus is known to cause paralysis in some rare cases and can also be life-threatening too.

Therefore, the country’s Health and Security Agency is now working on a series of medications and products to help make sure the spread is contained after samples of sewage water were found to be contaminated with the species.

The exact source of the sample was stated to be the London Beckton Sewage Treatment Works and which is known to provide supply to about four million citizens in the north and east of London.

Although health experts feel the virus that it’s normal for the virus to be gathered from samples in some isolated cases, this is definitely alarming for a condition that has ceased to exist in the country for years.

“They have been present inside samples that were picked up between February and May. It should not be like this. We can’t keep on getting samples that have this virus species inside them”- mentioned another health expert.

The virus is said to have evolved in the UK and is now going as far as being classified as something that’s vaccine driven.

VDPV is the name given to a strain that is a weakened version of the poliovirus and it was initially a part of the oral polio vaccine. But with time, it evolves and behaves in a more unpredictable manner that is wild than its normal counterpart.
