Tragic reports have confirmed the death of a woman who passed away after her apartment building’s elevator plunged several stories and landed inside the basement.
As per reports attained by the Daily Mail and Turkish media outlet NTV, she was killed on the spot inside the 11-story apartment building.
The mother of one was said to be leaving her seventh floor apartment to go to work when all of a sudden, the elevator started to malfunction. Security camera footage of this incident showed her husband, trying to pry open the elevator’s doors after she called to tell him that she was in an emergency situation and was stuck.
The husband was seen using his cell phone to call for help as his wife was inside the elevator. As per outlets, the pair heard a loud bang, and that’s when the elevator cabin jammed before eventually falling down the shaft, alongside several concrete counterweights.
The loved ones are demanding a transparent investigation as they mourn the loss of the young mother, and others demand that the responsible authorities be punished. So far, the police have questioned seven people in this case.
