Reagan International Airport has seen another plane crash after a taxiing jet struck a parked plane on the runway, months after 67 people were killed in a horror mid-air collision.
Several members of Congress were on board the planes when their wings collided on Thursday, with New York Congressman Nick LaLota sharing a post on X from inside one of the jets.
Another plane just rammed into our wing, he mentioned. This meant the plane would need to head back to the gate, and while everyone was okay, an investigation is now taking place to determine what happened and why.
The New York Congressman shared images from his plane window seat and said that his fellow members of Congress were equally stunned in terms of what was going on.
Meanwhile, Democrat Congressman Josh Gottheimer also shared how he was involved, and that’s when he took the chance to criticize Trump’s cuts to the federal government as he did so.
‘While waiting to take off on the runway at DCA just now, another plane hit us. This shouldn’t be happening!’- he shared online. He also stated, ‘Just a reminder: Recent cuts to the FAA weaken our skies and public safety!’
