America was quick to note how Donald Trump failed to put his hand on two Bibles that were placed right beside him during yesterday’s oath-taking ceremony.
One was the bible provided by his mother and the other one was the Lincoln Bible. Despite First Lady Melania standing right there next to him holding the holy books, Trump chose to keep his hand down and refuse to touch them.
The incident did not go unnoticed by the world and many are debating on the questionable act and how it was intentional.
While many of the new president’s supporters claim that it was done due to the ceremony being rushed and falling behind schedule, critics feel otherwise.
Trump continued to stand with his left arm down by his side as he raised his right hand for the oath of office.
People questioned the move and considered how it might be a sign of Trump taking a step back from the norms of the office of the president.
Others blamed Chief Justice John Roberts for the matter and for making the ceremony late which led to other aspects being rushed to get back on schedule.
