Actor Johnny Depp took to the witness stand today to testify for the final time in his million-dollar defamation trial against actress and former partner Amber Heard.
Depp mentioned in an emotional tone how much he enjoyed playing the role of Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean was saddened to be removed after allegations of being a wife-beater and abusive alcoholic took center stage and ruined his career.
The celeb was reportedly removed from the film cast of the blockbuster movie, leaving his fans and critics shocked.
Despite Depp trying to prove his innocence time and time again, he was always shut down but now the celeb is making sure his voice is heard in the US courts after filing a mega lawsuit.
Today, Depp took the stand for the third and final time and that’s when he unveiled how he wanted to continue with the Pirates of the Caribbean but was suddenly axed leaving him with notice but to leave in silence.
“I always wanted to bid all of my characters a final goodbye, including Captain Jack Sparrow but I never was given the chance”- the mentioned in an emotional tone.
Depp says he has regrets that all of his roles deserved a proper goodbye, confirming how a franchise could only stay so long. And there is a certain way to bring them to an end, on a good note.
“I thought I would continue with it until I felt the time was right to stop, but I was never able to”- he mentioned.
Johnny Depp was axed in 2018, just a few days after Amber Heard’s shocking allegations of domestic abuse by the actor were unveiled to the public.
