Pink Floyd is all set to release new music after nearly 28 years.
The band confirmed how they would soon be releasing their first track after a massive 28-year long gap and it’s safe to say that their fans couldn’t be more grateful for the news.
Pink Floyd revealed how their new track would stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, as they shared the title for their first song, ‘Hey Hey Rise Up’.
The band also gave an estimated date as to when it would be released and in case you happen to be a fan, brace yourselves because today is the day!
Yes, April 8th, 2022 is the day so many hardcore followers can witness the release, with the band confirming how all proceeds received from their music would be donated to Ukraine’s Humanitarian Relief.
The band is still as it is with 76-year old David Gilmour and 78-year-old Nick Mason joining the band’s bass player Guy Pratt, with Nitin Sawhney on the keyboards.
Sources revealed how the band got together for the recording session last week on Wednesday but continued to keep it under the cover.
The soundtrack will also feature a special vocals performance by renowned singer Andriy Khlyvnyuk from Ukraine, adding a splendid touch to the already famed and much-anticipated release.
The star Ukrainian is a part of the country’s hit band called Boombox. Pink Floyd has reportedly included a portion of his music through a clip that he had put on his Instagram account recently that showed him singing at the country’s capital city in Kyiv.
He was singing a song that protested against the ongoing Russian invasion of his homeland with the tune dating back to the first World War. That particular track is known to be the country’s classic protest song.
