The last photo of a 12-year-old girl whose lifeless body was found stuffed inside a suitcase in Paris has been revealed.

The body of the schoolgirl – identified as Lola – was found tied up inside the suitcase with her wrists and feet bound. There was a tap around her face and several cuts to her throat.

She was reported missing by her parents only hours before the plastic suitcase was found.

According to a police source, Lola had the numbers ‘1’ and ‘0’ imprinted on her body.

A post-mortem examination concluded that she had passed away from asphyxiation.

Security camera footage has emerged, showing the 12-year-old girl wearing a white outfit and carrying a schoolbag. She was seen walking into the building behind a woman who residents claimed was later seen carrying a heavy suitcase.

The suspect was arrested along with her sister. They are both in their 20s.

Reports reveal that the suitcase was discovered outside a block of flats near Buttes-Chaumont park after her mother reported missing when she failed to return home.

Police said they had launched a murder inquiry after finding signs of kidnapping in the basement of the building.

One resident told BFMTV that he saw the suspect struggling to drag the suitcase two hours before Lola was reported missing.

“We saw her go into the building, she was all alone… we saw her half an hour later with a suitcase, she was speaking a bit with everyone, she seemed to be a bit crazy,” the resident said.

The witness also alleged that the suspect left the suitcase in the street.

“She was struggling to carry the suitcase, we thought it was because it was heavy items and she was quite slim – we never thought it was a body… It was 5pm and she was walking around with that suitcase, she even left it outside a cafe and went to the bakery opposite to buy a croissant as if nothing had happened.”

The girl’s mother, Delphine, went to the police when her daughter failed to return home from school.

Around six hours later, a man called the police after he allegedly noticed a suitcase and found a body inside.
