One woman is sharing her absolute shock and horror after being requested through a text message to pay for attending a birthday event of her own nephew.

The woman says she had never been to a birthday party in her life where she saw such behavior arise. Being told to pay was baffling for her and now, she just didn’t know what to make of the entire situation.

The fact that she was texted a share of the bill by her own cousin for attending her nephew’s birthday had some people in a frenzy. Why was she being told to do this? Was this a norm? There were plenty of questions on her mind.

But if you think this woman was going to pay without having a fight, well, think again. She really did go that extra mile to post her story on Reddit anonymously and see what other people had to say about the matter.

And clearly, she was not the only one having a problem with this. Netizens had mixed reviews about the matter and they’re now speaking in detail about it.

“This was my nephew. The host should have realized that. Plus, nobody told her to keep the event at an expensive eatery. If it did not fall in her budget, she should have changed the venue”- the furious partygoer added.

And just like that, people could not agree more. What was going on? If there was going to be a price attached for attendance, perhaps she should have been informed by phone or a small mention could have been made on the invite.
