A mother and father were branded as mean and cruel after choosing a very unusual and quite “offensive” name for their newborn baby.

The two parents, who were not named, were exposed by a Reddit user who shared their post and revealed they have named their child Pheart.

“Little Baby Fart, such a mischief maker!” the Reddit poster wrote as they shared a screenshot of the baby along with his name on the platform.

The post has since racked up thousands of views with countless people slamming the parents for choosing a name that literally pronounces as ‘fart’ in English.

“This has to be the worst baby name in history,” one said.

“That is so cruel. So cruel,” another responded.

“I refuse to accept this is the baby’s name…Come on, this cannot be the kid’s name. Surely? F***ing FART?” a third wrote.

One outraged viewer suggested: “Omg I feel so bad because I know this is a real little human who’s going to have to grow up with this name, but this post honestly made me howl, I’m in tears.”

Meanwhile, plenty of fellow parents called the parents cruel and mean while saying their child could have problems in the future because of his name.

Some people, however, implied that the child’s parents might have had good intentions while simply failing to see that the name pronounces as ‘fart’.

“Maybe it’s pronounced ‘furt’ or ‘fay-art’ or even like ‘fair-t’… horrible spelling for any of those pronunciations,” one viewer said.

“Maybe intended to be one of those ‘the P is silent’ words, like pneumonia or pterodactyl, and the parents not knowing that PH usually is read as F,” another suggested.

Some viewers also rushed to the parents’ aid saying English might not be their first language, hence the lack of awareness surrounding the name’s possible pronunciation as ‘fart.’
