New York City’s 81st annual Columbus Day Parade on Monday was reportedly canceled by the governor’s state of emergency order and inclement weather spurring floods across the tri-state region.
The foundation known for organizing this parade around Manhattan shared more details about how they announced the cancellation late on Sunday, just over 12 hours before it was scheduled to begin.

The parade will reportedly not take place again as it cannot be rescheduled, the post added, and they look forward to seeing everyone in the parade in 2026. The state of emergency was announced by Gov. Kathy Hochul on Sunday evening and is currently in effect for all five boroughs as well as Nassau and Westchester counties.
