Shocking and terrifying reports are coming in from Amsterdam, where a mass stabbing incident has left several people seriously injured.
According to reports from local media outlets, at least five people were rushed to a nearby hospital after receiving stab wounds near Amsterdam’s central Dam Square.
The knifeman struck on Sint Nicolaasstraat near the city’s iconic Dam Square at about 3:30 pm local time.
One witness shared more through local media outlets, including how they suddenly heard give out an icy scream before panic and fear gripped the air.
A shop worker added that there was a lot of shouting and screaming taking place as people ran across the streets.
One girl was attacked, and another elderly female was stabbed in the back, as per local media reports that the cops are yet to confirm.
Live footage showed the historic landmark where a mass crowd gathered around the cordoned-off area in front of the Royal Palace.
Another trauma helicopter, including ambulances and 14 police cars and vans, was seen on standby at the site of the crime. So far, the authorities have confirmed that one suspect has been arrested. ‘A motive is still not clear right now, but it’s going to be a part of our investigation,’ the cops shared.
