At least four people were injured in a horrifying incident after a man with an axe and hammer was seen attacking passengers inside the packed moving train in Germany.
Cops shared how the attack arose in the Intercity Express train that was on its way to Vienna.
Several first responders, including the fire department, police units, and ambulance services, were dispatched to the scene where the attack took place.
Some of the passengers reportedly pulled the train’s emergency brake after the attack, forcing officials to close the tracks.
As per local media outlets, the attacker is said to be of Syrian origin and is currently in police custody under arrest.
It’s understood that he was carrying an axe and a hammer. Sources alleged that one unidentified passenger stole one of his weapons and used that to put an end to the attacker’s motives.
