President Trump was seen awarding the Charlie Kirk Medal of Freedom to his widow, Erika Kirk, yesterday on what would have been his birthday.
Charlie’s widow, Erika, found it hard to stay silent and not get emotional as she was pictured wiping away her tears as Trump handed her the highest civilian honor at the ceremony inside the White House Rose Garden on Tuesday.
‘You have given him the best birthday gift he could ever have,’- the mother of two said while crying as Trump beamed at her. She was finding it hard to remain composed and continued to look at the sky while Trump spoke highly of her late husband.
But viewers on social media didn’t stop when it came down to criticizing Erika for the way she behaved on that day, some going as far as to mention that this mother of two could win an Oscar for shedding crocodile tears like that.
Kirk’s parents were also in attendance for this ceremony despite remaining out of the public spotlight after their son’s death.
Friends and Turning Point employees were also in attendance together with VP JD Vance and his wife Usha, Trump’s son Don Jr, and conservative media stars Tucker Carlson, Jesse Watters, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham.
Erika fought back tears as she revealed she had asked their daughter ‘What she would like to say to Daddy’ on his birthday.
