A teacher from Ohio is going viral after revealing to the world how hard she has to work to make her ends meet and it’s melting so many hearts.
The teacher named Lexis Firment may just be 22 but that doesn’t mean she has things going in her favor. At this young age, she is forced to work not one but two jobs with plenty of shifts attached.
And yet, she’s still finding it so hard to make a living and pay her rent which is now averaging at $1600.
Lexie adds that the soaring costs of living have really taken a toll on her life and now she’s wondering what else she can do to try and earn some extra cash.
Not only is Lexie a hardworking teacher but she’s also a part-time grocery driver and waitress. But taking on three jobs has still not allowed her to live a life without stress because it’s just getting impossible for her to carry on in this way.
Sharing her pain on TikTok, this middle school teacher adds that the term broke teacher would be adequate for someone like her. Moreover, the fact that she even tries to deliver groceries for others for more cash isn’t helping either because the more she works, the harder it gets and yet the bills continue to mount up each month.
On average, the entry-level salary for teaching is just $25,671 before tax is removed. And that would leave this young woman with just around $500 in a month after she deducts her rent and a few other needy expenses.
Many people wrongly believe Ohio has a low cost of living and hence the teacher should be saving more. But that’s not true because the state has really gone through a lot due to serious housing crises. Hence, as a result, the prices of rent have surged greatly.
After the video was shared on TikTok, many users began commenting on how they were going through something similar. And that just goes to show how many are paying the hefty price of the current uncontrolled inflation seen around the globe.
