The White House just revealed a dramatic new plan under which migrants would be paid up to $1000 if they deport themselves from America.
The Department of Homeland Security shared a new proposal to incentivise self-deportation via the CBP Home app, which the Trump administration is trying to facilitate the removal of migrants in America illegally.
Illegal migrants who use this app to leave the nation are promised a flight out of the country at no cost.
Furthermore, they are going to get a cash prize. Any illegal alien who uses this CBP Home App for self-deportation would even get a stipend of $1000, after they return to the home country of their choice. This was confirmed yesterday through the platform.
Currently, the average cost linked to arresting, detaining, and getting rid of illegal aliens stands at $17,000, as per the DHS.
If the migrants are going to collect the cash reward and free flights, the DHS might see a 70% saving, as per the agency. Senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller, who happens to be the main mastermind behind this immigration agenda, mentioned that long-term savings for every self-deported family might end up being more than $1 million.
