Heartbreak For Young Teen Who Says ‘Nobody Came’ After He Opened A Cafe During The Cost Of Living Crisis

A young teenager from Adelaide in Australia is speaking about his heartbreak after he opted to go independent and make a living during the financial crisis.

Think along the lines of opening up your first coffee shop, only to get disappointed because nobody showed up. Yes, it’s as heartbreaking as it sounds and he wants the world to know that the pain is real. But if you think he would stay put and not do anything about the ordeal, think again.

With the help of social media, he tried to raise more awareness on the subject. And thanks to his TikTok, he really did end up providing more people with the chance to experiment with what his hard work has brought forward.

Tom Oswald who is only 18 says he just opened up his cafe with so much enthusiasm and aspiration but little did he realize that it wouldn’t work out too well in his favor. In fact, it was the absolute opposite of what he had hoped for.

The cafe that’s called Homeboy didn’t attract much of an audience in the beginning. And when you’re new in the industry, that can really be a bad heartache. But as time progressed, he tried to raise awareness, and today, he’s super glad that he did.

“I set up the cafe with so much diligence and dedication. But little did I know that there would be a huge lack of customers interested in my venture. I am just so heartbroken that I do not even know what to say”- the young man added.

Other than family and friends, nobody showed up. And that feeling of his heart sinking started to weigh in. “What would happen if it was a total failure?”- he used to wonder to himself. And as time passed, it got worse and worse.

But the quieter days gave him time to reflect and research. And when he made his brand more prominent, he got his returns.

“The response isn’t amazing but at least it’s there. I am super happy that we are making some kind of progress”- he mentioned.
