NFL star Damar Hamlin has spoken out for the first time since his hospitalization last Monday.
The 24-year-old Buffalo Bills safety was rushed to hospital during a Monday Night Football match against Cincinnati Bengals after his heart went on and he collapsed on the field.
The footballer has since remained in critical condition surrounded by his loved ones. Now, he also shared his first message since his major health scare.
“GameDay.. Nothing I Want More Than To Be Running Out That Tunnel With My Brothers. God Using Me In A Different Way Today. Tell Someone You Love Them Today! let’s go,” Hamlin wrote in his post moments before his team won against the New England Patriots with the score of 35 – 23.
Later, Damar once again took to social media to share his enthusiasm over the Bills’ stunning 96-yard kickoff return touchdown.
“OMFG!” the young athlete posted as part of his reaction.
Meanwhile, he also shared a photo of himself sitting in his hospital bed surrounded by his family members.
In the picture, the footballer and his companions are seen wearing a ‘Love for Damar’ T-shirts.
The warm and happy news comes three days after it was revealed that Hamlin’s breathing tube was removed and that he could breathe on his own going forward.
Recalling the moment the 24-year-old footballer called his teammates to share the news personally, Bills General Manager Brandon Beane said:
“The room went nuts. It was awesome. The hair on the back of my neck stood up.”
