Astronomer’s new CEO has issued a new statement announcing his official role, but he did a little more than just that.
While he did appear to be so thrilled to take on the new role, there were more shocking emotions portrayed, including how thrilled he was about the awkward Coldplay concert cuddling scandal that landed him this job.
The former chief executive, Andy Byron, and HR chief Kristy Cabot were caught in an embrace when a jumbotron camera panned to them while the band serenaded with thousands of fans at the Gillette Stadium in Boston on Tuesday.
Byron then resigned from his position, leaving Pete DeJoy to step in as interim CEO for the tech firm. On Monday, DeJoy took to his account on LinkedIn to share the new and official role. He gushed at the fact that the firm is a household name thanks to this entire Coldplay saga.
‘The spotlight has been an unusual and surreal one for the team. I would have never wished for it to happen like this, but thanks to it, we’re now a household name’- he continued.
‘I am stepping into this new role with a wholehearted commitment to taking care of our people and delivering for our clients. Astronomer’s foundation remains stronger than ever and is built on the thriving Apache Airflow Community’- he further elaborated. In the end, he said that the firm won’t let anyone down.
