United States President Trump has floated the possibility of the death penalty for a group of Democratic Congress members who called upon the military and intelligence community to refuse illegal orders.

He also suggested that he would be in favor of imprisoning the Democrats for their statement. His outburst on the matter has led to widespread public outrage in America, with some calling him unfit to rule the nation with such baseless threats.

‘This is really bad and dangerous to our country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!! LOCK THEM UP???’- he wrote on Thursday as part of a series of posts on his platform called Truth Social.

A follow-up message that was published nearly 40 minutes later contained only five words: ‘SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable BY DEATH!’- which many Democrats called out as an absolutely vile threat.

This had to do with disobeying illegal orders, which US law clearly states that any soldier or service member has an obligation to reject the orders that they feel are illegal. This includes any order that runs against the Constitution.

In a collective statement issued by the Democrats, it was mentioned that all military men must refuse illegal orders, and they don’t need to carry out any order that violates the law or the US Constitution.
