Putin’s forces have just launched a military attack in Ukraine with missiles landing just 12 miles away from Poland’s border.
Ukraine recently confirmed the news saying Russia has just attacked the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security, close to the early hours of 6 am.
According to local media reports, it has been revealed that the military base was a target as 30 Russian missiles landed in the area, resulting in the tragic death of at least 35 people in the strike.
On the other hand, Ukraine’s Defence Minister has referred to the incident as a new type of terrorist attack on the peace and security situated near the EU-NATO border.
Heavy explosions and loud gunfire filled the air as large smoke could be seen on the outskirts of the nearby city of Lviv which was reportedly deemed to be a safe haven for refugees trying to escape the war-torn country.
Despite the destruction taking place, the incident has not managed to stop the rapid influx of refugees who are doing everything in their power to escape the country and enter into neighboring country Poland via its border.
While initial reports suggested that the base had been subject to at least eight missiles, military officials confirmed how it was indeed 30 cruise missiles that rammed into the base, leaving 35 dead and dozens injured.
This particular base has been used in the past to host a number of military drills by NATO and has even housed several foreign instructors too. Thankfully, NATO confirmed how none of its personnel were located in the base at the time of the deadly attack by Russian forces.
The attack has made stronger calls by Ukraine to NATO to assist in declaring the area a ‘no-fly zone’ as it was an imminent danger to all of Europe.
