US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has confirmed that President Trump has just ordered an additional 500 National Guardsmen to be deployed to the country’s capital following the shooting of two Guardsmen near the White House.
His statement was powerful, emotional, and very uncompromising, adding that those responsible would pay a high price.
The shooter committed a dastardly act, targeting the best of America. Hegseth shared how they were critically injured and not dead, telling the press to avoid sharing misinformation with the public.
The shooter is also said to be injured and is currently hospitalized and in custody. The Trump administration has condemned the act and vowed to boost security, adding that such incidents will not impact the strong and heroic behavior of the troops that have brought down crime rates to a new low in the country.
‘We will secure our capital, our cities, and our country!’- he mentioned. The administration was seen asking for prayers for the National Guardsmen who were wounded as they were rushed to the nearby hospital, covered in blood.
The incident arose just 800 yards from the White House, causing the President’s residence to enter into a state of immediate lockdown.
