The news comes after Waltz came in the line of fire after he decided to put together a Signal chat and mistakenly included The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg in that conversation that was intended to disclose discussions about top national security officials about plans linked to the military strike on Houthi targets in Yemen.

Goldberg published his account and omitted the operational details, but after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard, and CIA director John Ratcliffe denied that any classified data was shared on that particular chat, Goldberg decided to put the truth out there and published the information too. This included the key details regarding the timings of the strikes and the weapons packages used.

Waltz admitted behind closed doors the authenticity of the reports, but he failed to offer his resignation over the major security breach. At that time, Trump didn’t choose to fire him, but now sources claim the time has come for her to step down after Trump’s orders.
