Having a child and not being acknowledged as being the father in public is a pain of a whole new kind and this next story about a dad going through the dilemma speaks about just that.
Phillip Smith is 62 and is always questioned on why he opted to have a child so late. Moreover, it’s not uncommon for people to refer to him as his son’s grandad because they automatically assume he cannot be the father at such an old age.
But he and his wife Hasina claim they had been trying really hard to have a child for the past five years. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any luck at that moment and actually gave up on the hopes of having a baby after Hasina miscarried at five months.
Today, Phillip already has three sons who are 38, 37, and 36 years old. And his family felt that it was his time to retire instead of trying for a child. But in the month of May last year, Hasina gave him glad tidings and told him about her pregnancy. Then in November of last year, they ended up giving birth to a son named Prince Phillip.
The contractor who hails from Florida mentioned how he feels he’s too old to have a child. Many people can’t help but ask him about his grandson, and that’s when he is left with no choice but to correct them and add how this is his son.
The pair met one another on Facebook, after which they started to date in April 2016.
She used to work at a hair salon and he used to always take the time to come by and speak to her. And soon, they became so comfortable with each other and even after a decade, he still remembered her and reached out to her.
Hasina explained how she never imagined that she would be with someone who was nearly a decade older than her, someone who was so mature. But things fell into place and he ended up winning her heart.
