A family is mourning the loss of a 13-year-old daughter after she collapsed and suffered a serious cardiac arrest while she was at the movies.
Kasey Greene was inside the movie theater in Abu Dhabi when she collapsed and fell to the ground as per local media outlets. Her dad told the outlet that his daughter was planning to have a sleepover with friends that same evening and she had convinced him to call the two girls a taxi to the Vox Cinema at Yas Mall.
Kasey Lei was was a British teenage that moved from the UK to the UAE and said goodbye to her dad at about 5:30 pm and gave him a giant hug.
Less than 60 minutes later, his daughter’s friend took her phone and sent out alerts to him about what had happened. Her friend called from Kasey’s phone and mentioned how Kasey had passed out. ‘I literally ran towards the car. The cinema is not even half a mile from her house, but she ended up passing out there while watching the film, her dad recalled.
The father shared how the paramedics rushed and put a defibrillator over her and another machine, and let the experts do what they could, but while holding her hand, he knew that she was gone.
She suffered a sudden cardiac arrest, and it’s something that he will now have to mourn for the rest of his life. The father recalls how his daughter grabbed him to take a picture, and little did they know that would be the last one together.
