The teen allegedly stole just over $100 and went on to dispose of his weapon in a nearby trash can.

While the teenager initially got away with his daytime crime, he was taken to the police station by his own mother after she recognized him in surveillance footage of the robbery and became enraged by his actions.

During his court appearance, Brown’s lawyer argued that the teen resorted to gun violence and armed robbery because he was hungry and needed something to eat before his classes.

Judge Maryam Ahmad, however, dismissed these claims and suggested she never resorted to violence even though she was once used to hunger as well.

During his court appearance, Brown was denied bail after the judge refused to sympathize with the teen.

While the 18-year-old was set to graduate from his university in 2025, it is unclear if he will be able to continue his studies following his senseless holdup.

As the Cook County State’s Attorney has since confirmed, Brown’s next hearing is set for March 4. He remains in custody as of this writing.
