President Trump came head-to-head with newly elected NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani at the Oval Office today, and the meeting went better than many had expected.
Trump was all praise for Mamdani and even went on to mention that his meeting went great and how he agreed on a lot of things that Mamdani was saying, contrary to what many might believe. He also shared how he had just one thing in common with the new Mayor, and that was to see New York City prosper and do great like always, as it means so much to him.
The news comes after Mamdani made a direct appeal to Trump for a meeting, and many had no clue what a face-to-face meeting behind closed doors would be like, as the press was excluded from his high-profile affair.
The two leaders heard one another out, loud and clear, and seemed to emerge with smiles across their faces.
Trump said he would be looking forward to working with Mamdani, and he will give New York City all the help it needs to prosper. Trump’s shocking conciliatory tone ahead of time, with plenty of praise for Mamdani’s win and a prediction for a civil meeting, had people pleasantly surprised.
