A little boy who was fatally struck by a school bus while on his way home from school spent his final moments being comforted by a Good Samaritan neighbor.
The five-year-old was identified as Lens Arthur Joseph, who was publicly identified by his grieving loved ones as the victim of the tragic accident in Boston this Monday afternoon.
He had been on the school bus, but a substitute driver dropped him and his 11-year-old cousin at a different location than their usual bus stop, the family shared.
Little Lens stepped in front of the bus to cross the road to get to his home and was ultimately hit and killed.
Neighbor Nathaniel Thomas explained to WCVB how he had just pulled up in front of the driveway when he saw the big child on the ground.
He explained how Lens was not in a good medical state, and a relative was screaming nearby for medical assistance. He knew that something was really wrong.
The bus driver came panicking and told the neighbor to rush and call the police. Thomas explained how he moved Lens into a position on his side in an effort to help him breathe better.
