A small plane has reportedly nosedived and crashed after takeoff from London’s Southend Airport.
The terrifying incident took center stage in front of horrified families as it exploded into a massive fireball in the aftermath of the tragedy.
The 40 foot long Beech B200 jet was heading from the Essex airport to Netherlands but reached just 175ft before it slammed into the ground, just yards from the runway.
Footage was being circulated online where a huge black plume of smoke billowed into the sky with one clip displaying how passengers boarded another flight close by.
The flight to Lelystad which is located east of Amsterdam, was said to have taken off at 3:45 pm but took off 10 minutes later as per reports from Flightradar.
It’s not clear at the time how many people were on board the jet but the twin engined turboprop plane is said to hold the capacity of up to 12 passengers and pilots were seen waving to kids as the plane made its way to the taxiway.
Fire engines, police, and ambulances were seen rushing to the scene, and the cops have also set up a dedicated phone line for information or questions.
Sources have confirmed that all flights to and from the airport have been suspended as a result of the tragedy.
