19-year-old Sigmund Ropich was on a Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas cruise off the coast of Cuba with his friends when he fell overboard while partying.

According to the reports, the young man is still missing days after he disappeared in the darkness of the night on Tuesday.

“I just want my brother home. He is a son, a big and a little brother, a cousin, an uncle, a nephew, a friend, a homie, a classmate, a co-worker, a neighbor,” the teenager’s heartbroken sister, Savannah, expressed.

While the chances of finding Sigmund alive are getting slimmer by every passing hour, Savannah admitted that “an army” of people is still rooting for him to be found and brought back home.

The incident took place during a 7-day cruise in the Caribbean on the 230,000-ton Royal Caribbean ship that took off on the journey from Port Canaveral in Florida.

“We were told by the Cuban officials that they are done searching in the ocean. They are continuing only on the coast and land. I have a strong feeling they’re going to end this search,” Savannah added in an interview with Insider as the search for her brother narrowed down.

Since the teen has already been missing for several days, it is unlikely that an ocean search will resume. Still, Sigmund’s sister remains “very hopeful” that her brother will be found if only the authorities “open search back in the ocean.”

The interview comes after passengers from the cruise in question shared clips of the announcement shared by the ship’s captain after the teen fell overboard.

“We have reports of a man overboard. We have slowed the ship down, we have turned around and we are heading back to the position we had at that time,” the daunting message said.

“We will start the search and rescue operations with our rescue boats, we will have our crew out and about to look for anything.”
