The missing girl Charlotte Sena has been found alive days after disappearing from upstate New York while on a camping trip with her family.
The 9-year-old child reportedly vanished while riding her bike through the woods at Moreau Lake State Park on Saturday at around 6.15 pm.
Following the girl’s disappearance, her family launched a desperate search and the authorities put out an Amber Alert on the following day.
Now, it was revealed that Charlotte was kidnapped for ransom by a suspect with a s*xual abuse criminal history.
The child has since been found alive and in good health after the suspect left a note seeking ransom at her parents’ home.
“Charlotte has been found safe and in good health,” the police confirmed on Monday at 7 pm.
It was also revealed that the suspect has been arrested after the police raided a house in Milton located around 13 miles from the Sena family’s home.
The fortunate turn of events brings a 400-personnel search involving multiple agencies to an end.
“We are overjoyed at the news that Charlotte Sena has been located safely this evening after an intense days-long search,” New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said.
“Our hearts are with her family as they welcome her home. Thank you to the New York State Police, New York Park Police and all who worked so tirelessly to find Charlotte.
“It is because of their efforts that Charlotte will be able to return home safe to her family.”
