Former US President Joe Biden just sold his presidential memoir for a shocking $10 million advance.
While the figure might appear major to some, it’s actually far less than the lucrative deals won by the Obamas and Bill Clinton, as per the latest report.
Biden made the deal with Hachette Book Group for an advance of nearly $10 million, as confirmed by sources at Wall Street Journal. They added how the book’s publisher has yet to set a publican date. Before, Barack Obama and his wife sold the rights to their memoirs to Penguin Random House for a shocking $60 million in 2017.
Alfred which is owned by Penguin Random House’s parent firm paid $15 million for former President Bill Clinton 2004 memoir dubbed My Life.
President Trump didn’t public any presidential memoir after his first term. At an event that took place earlier, Biden mentioned how he was busy working his backside off to write a memoir.
Biden was represented by Creative Artists Agency, which sold Hachette worldwide rights for this book. The agency also represented Biden for the 2017 memoir, Promise me Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose, which is chronicled last year with his oldest son, Beau. He reportedly passed away from brain cancer in the year 2015.
