Michael Bolton has opened up about his health battle as he shared his shock diagnosis with his fans.
The 70-year-old American singer-songwriter, who is best known for hits like How Am I Supposed To Live Without You?, How Can We Be Lovers?, Can I Touch You… There?, Said I Loved You… But I Lied, and When a Man Loves a Woman, has revealed he was forced to undergo “immediate surgery” after getting diagnosed with a brain tumor.
In a shocking note he shared on Facebook, Bolton announced: “I want to start by wishing everyone a very happy and healthy new year! I also want to share that 2023 ended up presenting me with some very unexpected challenges.
“Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery.”
Despite the severity of the issue, however, the singer ended his revelation on a more positive note saying he was now in recovery following a successful surgery.
“Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family,” he added.
Bolton also revealed his plans for the near future as he vowed to focus on his recovery and take a break from touring.
“It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon,” he said.
“I am beyond grateful for all the love and support you have so generously shown me through the years. Know that I’m keeping your positive messages in my heart, and I’ll give you more updates as soon as I can. Much love always, MB.”
Following his brave admission, the singer was inundated with words of support from his loyal followers.
