BREAKING: Melania Trump’s Mother, Amalija Knavs, Has Passed Away


Melania Trump’s mother, Amalija Knavs, has passed away at the age of 78, the former First Lady confirmed.

Taking to X to share the news, Melania wrote: “It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Amalija.

“Amalija Knavs was a strong woman who always carried herself with grace, warmth, and dignity.  She was entirely devoted to her husband, daughters, grandson, and son-in-law. We will miss her beyond measure and continue to honor and love her legacy.”

While the former FLOTUS didn’t reveal the cause of death, it is well known that her mother had been sick for quite some time leading to her passing.

Paying a tribute to Knavs’ death was also the former POTUS, Donald Trump, who remembered his mother-in-law as a “great and beautiful” woman.

“This is a very sad night for the entire Trump family!!! Melania’s great and beautiful mother, Amalija, has just gone to a beautiful place in the sky. She was an incredible woman, and will be missed far beyond words!” he shared in his statement.

The tragic news comes less than a month after Melania missed out on her family’s traditional Christmas photoshoot because she was busy staying by her Slovenian mom’s side in the hospital.

Despite his daughter’s absence from the photoshoot, Melania’s father and Knavs’s husband, Viktor, was seen posing for photos with the Trump family at Mar-a-Lago.

According to the former FLOTUS’s senior aide Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Melania and Amalija had always been very close.

In her book, Melania and Me, the author claimed that “Melania has always taken care of her parents.”
